Howdy! My name is Caitlin, I am a Board-Certified Integrative Health & Well-Being Coach.
Shortly after completing my 17-year elite swimming career I graduated from San Jose State University with degrees in Sociology and Business. I began my professional career as an ASCA Swim Coach. Shortly after I was diagnosed with several different chronic health issues. Frustrated by the shortcomings of our conventional healthcare system, I decided to take my health into my own hands & enrolled at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition (IIN).
After finishing the coaching program, I continued on to the Advanced Coaching Practicum which lead to me completing my boards certification in Health & Wellness coaching. As a certified Integrative Health & Well-Being Coach, I am trained in to support behavioral changes in lifestyle, stress management and functional nutrition.
I view Health Coaching as a collaborative and client-led process. In my years as an elite athlete I found that working together is not only a more effective way of achieving your goals, it also ensures that the process is more enjoyable. All my sessions aim to facilitate and empower clients as they develop and achieve self-determined goals related to their personal healthcare plans and overall well-being.
I believe that our healthcare plans, diets, and/or lifestyles should reflect the uniqueness of our individuality. An example of this would be my personal exercise regimen. After years of practicing and competing in an aerobic endurance sport, I find my body craves slower, more intentional movements. My go-to fitness activities nowadays are walking, hiking, pilates and yoga. It’s just what works for me.
My coaching program also promotes patient-autonomy. I help clients understand and strengthen their personal connections between mind and body; as well as how to advocate for themselves during medical appointments.
I utilize a myriad of coaching tactics, as well as current nutritional and health theories. I strive to leave every client feeling happy and excited about their life and overall well-being.
